Tools for Your Healing Journey
I remember about 7 years ago sitting at my desk and thinking that I didn’t have anything to look forward to. I had just returned from a small vacation and realized I didn’t have anything else planned. No big milestones.
I was 25 years old, and I felt like I had nothing to live for.
For the first 20+ years of our lives, we’re constantly looking forward to what’s next. Summer break. Starting school. Sport seasons, show choir, musicals. Drivers license, prom, high school graduation, 21st birthday.
I graduated from college, turned 22 two weeks later, and got married 4 days after that. It was all a whirlwind. But when reality set in and I was not only an adult with a career and real responsibilities, but also a wife, it was…a lot to navigate at 22.
I spent years of my life going through the motions. Doing what I was “supposed to do.” Just trying to get through the days. As I look back, I wish I could have those years back so I could make the most of them. But when it’s all said and done, I’m actually grateful for that time of my life, because I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t had those experiences and learned those lessons.
And I am truly so appreciative to be who I am today. I can genuinely say that I look forward to each day. Sure, there are days when I have to do things I’d rather not do - go to the dentist, pay for a car repair, deal with something stressful at work. But I wake up happy to be living this life. Excited to see what’s next. And that is a fucking gift.
My healing journey is ongoing, and has been a long process with many ups and downs. But the tools I continue to recommend time and time again are: therapy, astrology, and journaling.
I designed my new Journal Club membership as a resource that utilizes pieces of all of those tools in a way that is simple and easy to implement in your daily life. If you’re ready to take this step on your healing journey, join us at the link below!
